This Web Site was originally conceived by John Snelson shortly after the sale of Ernst & Young Consulting to Cap Gemini in mid 2000.
The MCnetwork is designed to allow consultants previously with Ernst & Young Management Consulting, its precurser firms and then perhaps later with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, to keep in touch and contact with each other. It is a networking website.
Members can read and search all the archives, create your own announcements and discussions - all the replies to an initial post are now gathered on one page. You can bookmark topics you're interested in, and have new replies to that topic delivered to your inbox. And as always, there are no pop-ups or banner ads displayed within Google Groups - although there are some relevant text ads.
This is a big improvement over the Topica facility that has hosted us for the last 7 years, almost to the day, and it's a lot easier to use that Yahoo Groups. Google Groups has better safety features, hides or provides security over email, to avoid allowing the spammers to harvest your addresses (a weakness in Topica); in addition, you can show your photograth (or a pic of your cat, cap, car, cafe, caddie, cot, kilt or caravan), upload files and images and many other things. For example, you can track and mark topics using the "My Groups" feature, and view postings in several ways, including by message summary, title, or conversation view.
As well as being able to upload your photograph, Members may create public profiles which display their name, nickname, location, title, industry, website, blog and quote, as well as the most recent posts they made. Their profiles are accessible to anyone by clicking on "View Profile" beside any of their posts. This is not the place for your whole CV, but enough for others to be aware of your talents, interests and (if you like) idiosyncracies.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please use the Contact Us link at the top left hand side of this page, and we do hope you enjoy this facility.
